Diana Zapata honed her love of color first as a graphic designer and now as an interior designer whose passion is to create spaces that allow us to “live in our homes for life.” Working to help her parents stay in their home as they aged inspired her to acquire her CAPS (Certified Aging in Place Specialist) certificate from the National Home Builder’s Association. Diana is also a Charter Volunteer Board member of Villages NW, which supports this new model of paying it forward as we all grow older in our neighborhoods and communities.
Diana crafts innovative solutions, drawing on her color theory expertise to help clients realize their design vision. She is a compassionate and empathetic listener who understands how to simplify the complex design process for each individual. She believes in artful conception that meshes the modern with the time-honored. Diana works with a range of clients whose budgets vary, from young professionals to those in transition planning. She is adept at choosing paint colors for both commercial and residential spaces, accessorizing, furniture selection, window coverings, and home-staging.
Diana moved to Portland 25 years ago from sunny Southern California, she loves the lush greenness that the Pacific Northwest offers. She and her husband like to explore the great outdoors and can be found kayaking, hiking and snowshoeing on their days off. Her favorite Miller Paint palette is the COLOREVOLUTION Collection, specifically designed to bring warmth and vibrancy into your space on the gray days we have during the rainy season here in Portland.
